Audiographics is actually a combination of two different distance learning systems - audio conferencing and a computer. Audio conferencing enables two-way communication between students and teacher while the addition of online computer learning offers participants the ability to see pertinent teaching information on screen.

With audiographics, students hear the teacher with either specifically-designed audio conferencing tools or a phone. The student's computer screen allows the student to view additional distance learning information that the teacher sends over the distance learning network to the learner. The monitor acts rather like a chalkboard, displaying the words and still pictures that the teacher deems appropriate for the online education course.
Audiographics facilitate a high level of online interactive learning between students and teacher at the time the lesson is occurring. The swap of information is two-way. When students have questions about the lesson, they are able to ask the teacher for clarification and the instructor is able to reply in real time. That's why audiographics is considered a synchronous online learning education environment.

Everyone who has ever taken part in an audio conferencing gathering knows however that simply listening to instruction can become boring. That can cause students to lose interest in the distance education training being taught. The computer 'chalkboard' can help to enhance a student's education learning online as well as the student's awareness by giving the student something to look at while listening. This is one of the tremendously important benefits of distance learning coupled with audiographics. In essence, it picks up where audio conferencing ends.
Another plus of audiographics is that it is relatively easy to set up and use. It is also a very cheap way to contact a large group of online learning communities. This cost-savings becomes especially clear when it is required to update and modify education online courses. Audiographics then is one of the more cost-effective instructional delivery methods.
With audiographics, while interaction between teacher and students is doable, it is possible only verbally. This can reduce the effectiveness of some instruction. And because it is not possible to enhance remote location bandwidth, the graphics capabilities are narrowed to still pictures. And even with this limitation, it still is not possible to ensure the resolution or the quality of the pictures being sent.
Audiographics, or electronic chalkboards, is helpful for the delivery of many kinds of online teaching and learning. One of the most apparent online learning resources that benefit is lectures. This distance learning technology is also useful for discussing the topics that have been offered and/or for brainstorming sessions. Because long distance learning participants also have the ability to see data that is transmitted electronically, this means of instruction is valuable for presenting illustrations that are related to the things being taught.
